about us

Cockles Farm is a family business and is run and managed by two generations. We all live on site and have backgrounds in property and land management.  The land has been owned by our family for over 40 years and we love living here!

We have decided to share the stunning location with guests and have renovated the farm bungalow to a high specification to offer a comfortable and relaxing stay.

We are members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club and have a Certified Location with five caravan pitches where members of the club can stay.  Each pitch has an electrical hook up, there is fresh water, a chemical toilet waste disposal point and recycling facilities.

In late Summer/early Autumn 2020 we will have our caravan and boat storage facility up and running.  The storage will be eco-friendly as we are going to minimise the disruption to the field as much as possible.  There will be movable hard standings provided and the vehicle accessways will be made from a recycled material through which the grass can grow.  There will be electricity, water and CCTV on site as well as the field being securely locked.

We also have chickens and ducks and therefore offer fresh farm eggs as well as homegrown veg to our guests to buy.  You may also be lucky to encounter our resident Peafowls, George and Josephine who can often be spotted enjoying a wander around the fields with their four children in tow.  We manage the fields and properties ourselves and carry out as much of the work as possible as within the family.  We bring in contractors for the more complex jobs such as baling the hay and any electrical and plumbing works required.

We are keen to be as environmentally friendly as possible and have drafted up some car free sustainable travel trips for you to embark on if you are staying with us should you so choose.  We hope you will enjoy them, they will take you to some of the most scenic locations in our vicinity.
